mailspring (1.23.0-1sharedpair1) resolute; urgency=medium

  * Package immutable upstream release 1.23.0 as an application-only mail
client, repacked from the checksum-pinned official amd64 Debian artifact.
  * Use the separately maintained, bounded Electron 44 runtime. Upstream builds
against Electron 41.7.2, for which no shared runtime line exists, so the
newest line was taken as the porting procedure requires: Electron 44 was
tried first and runs the release end to end — native sync engine, database
migration, onboarding window, @electron/remote and safeStorage — with no
removed API and no ABI diagnostic, so there was no reason to fall back.
  * Rebuild the sole native addon. better-sqlite3 is a V8/NAN addon bound to
NODE_MODULE_VERSION 145 as upstream ships it, which no shared runtime
provides; 12.11.1 — inside upstream's own "^12.8.0" range, and the first
release that compiles against the changed v8::External signatures — is built
against the Electron 44 headers and replaces both the JavaScript and the
native object so the two stay one release.
  * Neutralise Mailspring's own release poller, which otherwise queries
updates.getmailspring.com at boot and every 30 minutes with the
installation's Mailspring ID; APT owns installed updates.
  * Drop the thirty-one bundled cyrus-sasl objects -- ten client plugins in
three file copies each, plus libsasl2.so.2 -- and depend on Ubuntu's
libsasl2-2 and libsasl2-modules instead, with Kerberos mechanisms available
    from libsasl2-modules-gssapi-mit.
  * Drop the Windows-only windows-focus-assist native objects, retaining the
platform-gated JavaScript wrapper the main process imports on every start.
  * Remove the two RUNPATH entries upstream's linker left in mailsync.bin,
    which name the CI machine's mailcore2 build tree and /opt/openssl/lib;
RUNPATH is consulted ahead of the normal search path.
  * Depend on libsecret-1-0 and libtidy58, neither of which shlibdeps can see:
Electron dlopens libsecret for safeStorage, which Mailspring requires to
store account credentials, and mailsync dlopens libtidy to sanitise HTML.
